Conch shell

The conch shell symbolizes civilization and fairness. The conch is important because without it the children wouldn’t've established the authority they have also because it keeps the assemblies fair. Ralph is the main user of the conch. It is used when something goes wrong or Ralph feels like there should be a group discussion about something, also when someone is speaking and they do not want to be interrupted. The conch is blown into, to make a loud noise to catch everyone's attention and gather them in a group.

  1. Yes, I did understand the symbolism of the conch shell. The picture helped me understand better of what the conch shell looked like. I think that it made the blog post better because it gives that clear visual image of what the conch shell in the book may have looked like.
